I am a craftsman not a fencing contractor. I build each fence with attention to detail, fast and efficiently. Deer, dog, farm fence, rail fences - all kinds of pounded round post fences. I do not build cedar panel, corrugated, chainlink or any other type of fence.
My fences are made using pressure treated agricultural posts and rails which are relatively inexpensive but not perfectly straight or consistent. I shuffle them around, using the best ones in the most visible areas and present the best side as I build. The result is surprisingly attractive as you can see from my photos and videos. I call it “Flintstones carpentry“. If you can’t live with that then move on up the pay scale until you find a match.
I believe I have the best equipment and pounded post fencing skills in the valley. My equipment, specific to our typical terrain, is constantly being improved, as are my skills, gleaned from all over the world.
My goal is to build you the fence I said I’d build you, when I said I’d build it, for the price I said I‘d build it for. You‘ll be kept informed every step of the way. My software keeps the paperless papertrail clear from quote right through to invoice and receipts for payments. If I think there’s a better way to do things, I’ll tell you, even if I lose work because of it. I have lots of work but only one integrity. The same one for business and pleasure.
You don’t see a phone number here because if I’m working on somebody’s fence, I rarely answer my phone, if I’m driving I won’t use my phone and after work I’m tired. No, I really don’t like the distraction of the phone, please use the contact button at the top of this page, answer all my initial questions, a request will be created in my lovely system and you will be on my radar. It might take me a while to respond in the busy summer season but I will. Feel free to give me a text or email nudge if you feel like it.
I look forward to building you the best darn fence I ever built. They just get better. I love fencing!
I am based in Comox, BC, in the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. Most of my work has been in Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, Merville, Royston and Bowser. These days I get all the work I need without travelling further.
I aim to use my knowledge of current prices for pounded post fencing to pitch my quotes to get enough jobs to keep busy but not swamped.
Fencing is my craft and I look forward to getting up in the morning and getting on with each job. I build your fence with the pride and attention to detail that you are paying me well for.
Farm fencing is quite traditional and slow to change. I use my strength in lateral thinking and innovation to bring new methods and tools to improve speed and quality.
I would like to meet or exceed your expectations throughout our interaction and keep you well informed of any changes to timing or cost.
Just like any other commodity, prices will vary with seasonal supply and demand. This allows me to offset my heavy investment in equipment, tools, training, and the seasonal nature of the trade. Please feel free to tell me if you think I have got it wrong and I will reconsider.
